Saved filters allow for a faster and more efficient workflow as they allow you to quickly pull up multiple labels and other search criteria when in Scheduling, Billing, Contacts, etc. An example of saved filters may include a “Pre-billing check-list;” within this checklist, you can include some of the great auditing tools from the billing page including the duplicate timesheet audit, overlapping by client audit, as well as overlapping by provider audit. If you haven’t already done so, save each filter by navigating to the appropriate screen, and stack your desired filters/labels. To avoid having to remember this search criteria next time, click Save this view as a filter.
Name your filter, allow others to subscribe to your filter if you’d like this filter to be shared amongst team members, and save.
This filter will now be available for use on the left side of your screen under the Filters tab > Saved filters.
Keep stacking more filters in the same manner. A good practice before billing is to also check for entries with overlapping clients, and those where providers are overlapping, so let’s create these filters as well.
Once all of your saved filters are created, you can sort them to better manage a consistent and organized workflow. We’ll create a divider (think of this as a folder) and call it “Pre-billing checklist,” and include these filters below it. To do so, we’ll save a filter with at least one label. It doesn’t matter what search terms are specified as this will be shifted later.
Name your parent filter, or divider > Save.
Once saved, click on the gear icon on the left-hand side next to Saved filters and click on the pencil icon next to the first filter you want to organize. In the example below, we want the duplicate entries audit to be checked first before billing, so we’ll click on the pencil icon to the right of Duplicate entries audit.
Because we want the duplicate entries audit to be under the “Pre-billing check-list” workflow, let’s edit the name by typing the divider name (in this case, “Pre-billing checklist”), and following by adding the | character on our keyboard. Again, simply type the name of the divider and |, leaving the original filter name to its right.
Once updated, you’ll see that the Duplicate entries audit checklist item now falls under the “Pre-billing” check-list item.
Complete the same steps above to house your filters under your desired filter to better organize your billing and/or payroll workflows.
